Hi I’m Kate!

I’ve been tutoring students for nearly 10 years, and I’ve always been fascinated by how people learn. That curiosity led me to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience, graduating summa cum laude from The Ohio State University, and later complete an Executive MBA at Ulster University in Northern Ireland.

My favorite part of tutoring is watching everything suddenly click for my students. You know that feeling when the lightbulb goes off? When a concept that seemed confusing suddenly makes perfect sense? Those moments are why I continue to teach. Watching that confidence grow never gets old.

My goal isn’t simply to help students memorize information. I want them to truly understand what they're learning. When concepts begin to connect, everything else gets easier. Confidence grows, problem-solving feels less intimidating, and students start to trust themselves. I don’t just want my students to find the right answer – I want them to understand why it’s the right answer. My hope is that every student leaves a session feeling more capable, more independent, and ready to solve the next problem on their own.

Every lesson is tailored to each student’s learning style, pace, and goals because no two students learn in exactly the same way. I genuinely believe every student has the ability to succeed. Sometimes all it takes is hearing a concept explained in a different way, being asked the right questions, and having a space where it’s okay to make mistakes or not know the answer yet.
